German Shepherd Doorbell Response Team sign beside an exterior doorbell

Funny Dog & Cat Doorbell Sign Ideas: Pick the Pet That Greets First

The doorbell rings. Before you can put down your coffee, your dog is at the window—or your cat is inspecting the visitor. A funny sign beside the front door turns that familiar moment into a welcome your guests will remember.

Choose the pet that feels like yours

The Doorbell Response Team metal sign offers seven dog illustrations—Corgi, Dachshund, French Bulldog, Golden Retriever, Black Labrador, German Shepherd and Mixed Breed Dog—plus Orange Tabby, Black Cat and Gray Tabby styles. Pick the one that reminds you of the pet who always knows a visitor is coming. One sign shows one selected illustrated style.

This is a ready-made design. You choose a fixed pet illustration; you do not upload a photo or add a name. That makes it a simpler choice when you want a quick, funny gift for a pet owner.

Check the printed front, then the scene

A porch photo helps you imagine where the sign could hang. The front-artwork images in the gallery show what is actually printed for each Pet Style. Before adding to cart, select your style and compare its front-artwork image with the lifestyle scene. The printed message says “THE DOG HAS BEEN NOTIFIED” or “THE CAT HAS BEEN NOTIFIED,” depending on your selection.

Think about the spot beside your door

Each design is an 8 × 12 inch portrait metal sign. Measure a clear area near the doorbell before ordering so the sign is easy to notice without covering the bell, house number or another important fixture. The size guide uses the Corgi design as an example of the dimensions shared by all ten styles.

A small gift with a familiar story

For a housewarming, birthday or “just because” gift, the best match is the pet the recipient talks about most. A short-legged doorbell guard, a watchful Labrador or a cat that supervises every delivery gives the joke a personal connection without asking you to guess at someone else's photo.
